Our Charity Initiatives
At Take Five Ltd, the importance of giving back is not lost on us and we take our corporate responsibility pledge seriously. We support several initiatives in Bermuda and surrounds. For us, we start with our community and environment but extend globally. You can learn more about how and why we give back by scrolling down and continuing to read below.
BUZZ SCHOLARSHIPS
We have over 60 employees in this program and are growing! Take Five Ltd is a success because of our excellent workforce. We nurture our relationships and offer a supportive, secure working environment with many opportunities for career mobility as well as personal development. In return, we value our staff’s commitment to duty and dedication towards upholding both our brand and values. Read more about the experiences of one of our young Bermudian staff members and Buzz Scholarship recipients here.
TAKE FIVE LIMITED IS COMMITTED TO SUPPORTING ECOLOGICAL, COMMUNITY AND HUMANITARIAN INITIATIVES BOTH LOCALLY AND AROUND THE WORLD.
BEST PRACTICE AND THE ENVIRONMENT
In Bermuda, much of the islands waste products are expelled into the waters around the island, obviously this has consequential impacts on the environment. We do our best to minimize these effects by using cleaning products that are biodegradable and have zero to low toxicity for both humans and aquatic life. These Eco-friendly products are made from renewable ingredients without chlorine, known carcinogens or phosphates.
ELIZA DOLITTLE SOCIETY DAILY BREAD PROGRAMME
The World Bank Poverty headcount for Bermuda is a ratio at $1.90 a day (2011 PPP, % of population)
We know many families as well as individuals in Bermuda struggle to put food on the table and are unable to afford basic staples. Buzz café is a regular and proud donor of food to the Daily Bread Programme where volunteers deliver it to those most in need.
SECOND CHANCES
We are aware that many of our employees have come from difficult circumstances and we see their potential for growth. Through our Second Chances program our employees become empowered to become better citizens by enriching their lives and those of their fellow Bermudan citizens. We encourage them to make sustainable personal changes and goals and support them on their journey.
I KNOW HOPE PROJECT
We give back to other regions as well, not just Bermuda! Although ‘we act locally, we also think globally’. We sell I Know Hope bags and accessories which are handmade in the USA from recycled burlap coffee bean sacks and other upcycled materials. They are 100% environmentally friendly and the profits from these purchases provide essential food relief for children in several countries.
You can purchase a bag from Devil’s Isle Good to Go Deli.
Our charity efforts aren’t limited to those mentioned above and we also contribute to the following list:
Duke of Edinburgh Award
Raleigh Bermuda Ross “Blackie” Talbot Charity Classic
Crime Stoppers Cycling Team

St. Anne’s Church
